In a deep insight, the marker in a common language indicates the fact of a location/position to the viewer. The marker map indicates precisely the position of the desired coordinate. When to use Marker maps?
Markers are very common in consumer apps that allow users to search for locations. Therefore if you wish to visualize any sort of information regarding specific locations that are spread on a small scale of an area, the marker maps are really suggested.
Notice that if your information is very spread in terms of geographical locations, for example, you have different locations on different continents it might be hard for the user to follow and interact with your map in different regions of the maps.
Although this situation is very common for demonstrating geospatial information, it really depends on the end to the goal of your visualization and you can use Marker maps even for visualizing different branches of your business and corresponding information to each branch.
Being able to identify data and correspondence locations on a map is very important. Moreover, if the density of your locations in an area is too high, you can benefit from the cluster markers features in the BStreams and visualize your data in terms of clusters in specific areas.
